Basics of networking
1. Introduction
Cybersecurity, what is it? What is it and why is it important? In an age where technology is everywhere, we cannot forget our cyber security in this digitally comfortable world. We are not invisible online and our activities leave various traces or information behind. We use the internet almost every day, whether on social networks, forums or all kinds of sales platforms. We share our personal and financial data, send account numbers, pay with cards, phones and various digital currencies. What are the risks of going online? Identity theft, payment card cloning, loss of private files/data, bank account phishing, fraud. In life, we take care of our security, we look after ourselves, we buy medicines, we plan ahead. Why don't we do the same online? How many of you have antivirus software installed on your computer? All of you? And on your mobile phone? Anyone? We should ask ourselves if we really spend most of our time on the web in front of a computer screen or on our mobile phones? According to various statistics, over 70% of all web traffic already comes from mobile devices, especially our smartphones. Have you ever bought something on your mobile phone or used it to enter your billing information for various transactions? Properly prepared devices for the web are only half the battle; the other factor that guarantees relative security is the internet user's awareness. You can be the best prepared and have the best equipment, but without the right know-how you can cause yourself a lot of unnecessary and unpleasant problems.
